Spiced Honey Cake

 

 

Method:

Cream the butter or margarine and honey together.

Beat eggs and add alternatively with sieved flour, salt, baking powder and spice to creamed mixture.

Add fruit. lemon juice and enough milk if necessary to give dropping consistency.

Turn into well greased 7 inch round tin and bake on middle shelf for 2 hours in a pre-heated oven (300°F/150°C).

Allow to cool a little then turn out onto wired cake stand and a leave to cool.

 

4oz. Butter/Margarine

6oz. Plain Flour

1lb. Mixed Fruit

½ Teaspoon Lemon Juice

Milk

Ingredients:

3oz. Castor Sugar

4oz. Honey

1 Level Teaspoon Baking Powder

2 Level Teaspoons Mixed Spice

Pinch of Salt
