Intermediate Studies

When the busy summer season ends and the bees are beginning to cluster for the winter months, beekeepers find the time to further their knowledge of the many varied aspects of apiculture.

NBKA offers the training apiary during the summer months for those looking to improve their techniques. During the “closed” season there is an opportunity available only to members to attend the series of winter lectures which run on Thursday evenings from October to January. These lectures are designed to underpin the studies of those wishing to take the BBKA Modular Exams.

Dates and module studied will be published later in the year.

There is also an informal study group for a small number of members who sign up to take the BBKA correspondence course designed to assist those studying to sit a designated Modular Exam.

Members wishing to know more about the study group and how it works, or the Winter Lectures, should contact the Training Officer.
